It might be hard to tell from the images, but her stripes are etched in and lower than the surrounding clay. I etched and textured them to appear as flayed flesh, symbolic toward the atrocities against the thylacine. Though the intended figure is stone, it might as well be her flesh flayed, with exposed tendons. Her silent statement to the world which wronged her and her kind.
Echohowl is a thylacine, otherwise known as a tasmanian tiger or tasmanian wolf.
Echohowl is copyright to her and the art and concept is copyright to me.
I love how you did this. It's not how I expected it to look but looks awesome in it's own right. It will make an excellent visual for the back cover of the book!
I edited the artist comment about the piece, which I thought I had done before but apparantly DA didn't take the changes I made. It might give more insight as to why I created her the way I did. I'm sorry it isn't exactly what you expected, but I'm glad you like her.
Yay! Someone noticed the texture before I had a chance to edit the artist comment. Take a peek back up there if you feel the fancy, as I explained why I did texture those stripes the way I did.

Really? I mean, I'd love to be hosted, but I have no idea what such entails, cost, and, well, other things. But really, thank you, would it be possible? I'd need more info, if it is no trouble.
