Full view please.

Not as color intensive as the peacock I did, but trying to give the effect of a fire molten body feathers was just as fun and just as tricky. I glazed a soft coat of metallic gold over the finished piece so it has a nice sheen to it, but I think the scanner ate most of it.

The original is for sale. Note me if interested.

Beautiful. There is a very molten look to it. I especially like the head feathers, and the texture on the body is incredible. The blue of that eye is a really nice touch!
My one problem with it would be the tendrils coming off of the tail look a bit forced, but it works in the full view.
Overall, the effect of it is great, and the colour and texture are really interesting to look at.

If you expect the unexpected, and the unexpected becomes the expected, then you can no longer expect the unexpected because there is no more unexpected to expect, and then you are not expecting the unexpected, so the whole thing is pointless.

Incredible looking! I love the way you paint, the textures, the movements, the form and color. Wonderful! It really looks like it's molten, especially in the full view. :3

Thank you! I had a lot of fun mushing the paint around.

Thank you! I'm really glad it looks molten. I pushed paint around for hours trying to get it to look right.

Thank you for the comment. I worked really hard with this one to give it a molten, liquid fire feel. I guess that's what I had in mind when I did the tail also. It was more like living, flickering tendrils with snakelike motion than flame motion. I guess that's why they look so tightly curled, ready to whip around wildly.

I just wish I could have gotten the gold sheen to show better. Viewing it in the right light makes it all the more impressive.
